“The Meg 3: Black Water” (2025) continues the action-packed Meg franchise, with Jason Statham returning as deep-sea diver Jonas Taylor. Directed by Ben Wheatley and produced by Warner Bros, this third installment plunges audiences into even darker and deadlier oceanic depths, where new prehistoric threats emerge.
The story follows Jonas as he is once again called to face the terrifying megalodons. After surviving encounters with the massive sharks in the previous films, Jonas is tasked with exploring a previously uncharted region of the Mariana Trench. This mission leads his team to a hidden ecosystem, home to even more ferocious creatures, including the “Black Water Meg”—a massive, black-scaled megalodon, more aggressive and deadly than any of its predecessors.
As the Black Water Meg and other monstrous sea predators wreak havoc on both underwater operations and coastal cities, Jonas and his team must find a way to stop the destruction. With time running out, the battle intensifies, showcasing high-octane underwater action sequences and epic confrontations between humans and these ancient predators.
In addition to the intense action, Jonas faces personal struggles, particularly with his daughter, Meiying (Sophia Cai), as they work together to survive. The Meg 3: Black Water promises to raise the stakes, offering a terrifying blend of adventure, horror, and heart-pounding suspense as humanity confronts its greatest underwater threat yet.
